Starcraft II on Mac
A good friend of mine hooked me up with his Starcraft II Guest pass, which gives you 7 hours of gameplay. I played through this time already, and I have to say that this game is amazing, however I don’t think I will be buying it.
The graphics in this game are absolutely stunning. Unfortunately for me, they’re a little bit too high for my late 2008 Macbook Pro. I have to run the settings from about low to medium in order to get the game to run smoothly and clean. Even at low settings though, the game looks great. The buildings are crisp and the animations are incredible.
The new online system for match ups is very convenient and I had no trouble finding people to play against. My only problem is it seems as though right now I am not quite a strong enough, or experienced enough player to be able to stand up to most of the people I have been matched up against, but I assume over time I will be able to get a little better at that.
The gameplay is fun and interesting and will provide hours of fun for anyone who buys this game. The campaign is detailed and very immersive, as blizzard is known to do better than many others.
I don’t however think that I will buy Starcraft II for a little while though. The time needed to become very good as well as my computer not quite being up to snuff is too strong of a counter argument to getting the game right now. But I can definitely tell you that when I graduate college and buy myself one of those shiny new 12 core Mac Pros, Starcraft II will not be far behind.
